Welcome

Starting therapy is a hard task. There are so many considerations that you may have when deciding if you want to start therapy, and who would be the right therapist for you. The rapport and connection you have with your therapist can be just as important as the therapeutic work itself. I welcome you to my website, and highly encourage you to consider reaching out to me for a free, 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. I hope to connect with you soon and reach out to me with any questions!

A bit more about me

Hello and welcome. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts. I have experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and substance use disorders. My past experience as a medical social worker has also prepared me to support clients experiencing chronic health conditions who are navigating the health care system. I am passionate about improving access to mental healthcare and I readily support my clients through a sliding scale fee, which means that if you prefer to not use your insurance, we can discuss a fee that best matches your financial circumstances. My areas of specific clinical interest are mood disruptions caused by thyroid conditions, work stress and anxiety, alcohol use in young adults and the LGBTQ+ community, as well as insomnia worsened by anxiety disorders. As a Massachusetts native, I understand that access to care and therapy can be limited depending on where live in the Bay State; I offer telehealth sessions to all clients who reside in Massachusetts with flexible scheduling.

I have training in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also offer CBT-I and brief behavioral treatment for insomnia. While it is important to discuss which type of therapy best fits your needs, connecting with a therapist is a personal journey, and having a trust-based working relationship with your therapist is critical. I focus on better understanding who you are, and I recognize that there is not a one-size fits all approach to therapy. Often, processing stress in our lives can provide perspective and we notice improvement. Other times, we need to learn and practice specific coping skills to address our concerns.

I offer free 15-minute initial phone calls for us to chat more and determine if setting up our first appointment would best meet your needs. You can also review my Headway and Psychology Today profiles at the links below:

Anxiety

What is anxiety? Anxiety can be thought of as an instinct that developed early on in human evolution, going all the way back to when humans were hunters and gatherers. It is the way our bodies and brains respond to perceived risk, much like an early human hunting potentially dangerous animals and having to know …
